This Privacy Policy explains how MerchScope ("MerchScope", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the MerchScope Chrome/Edge extension and web dashboard (together, the "Service").
Single purpose. MerchScope has one purpose: to help
sellers research products on Amazon, Shopify, and TikTok Shop by
overlaying sales estimates, revenue, BSR history, FBA fees, review
sentiment, and competitor pricing on listing pages they open in their
own browser.
What we do NOT collect
- We never collect, store, or transmit your Amazon, Shopify, or TikTok credentials. The extension operates inside the sessions you have already opened in your browser.
- We never read or transmit data from pages outside our supported marketplaces (Amazon, Shopify storefronts, TikTok Shop, and the MerchScope dashboard itself).
- We do not sell your data to third parties, and we do not use your data for any purpose unrelated to the Service.
What we do collect
- Account information. Your email address and (if paid) Square customer ID, so we can authenticate you and manage billing.
- Tracked product snapshots. When you choose to track a product, we store the product URL, platform, and the public listing data we read on each refresh (price, BSR, rating, review count, units sold). This data powers the history charts and alerts you configure.
- FBA calculator inputs. The COGS, prep cost, and ship-to-Amazon values you enter so net margin calculations stay consistent across sessions.
- Usage counters. Per-day counts of how many listings you read on each platform, used to enforce daily caps and bill the right plan.
How we use the data
- To render the research overlay on listings you open.
- To keep your tracked product history, niches, and alerts in sync across the extension and the dashboard.
- To bill the Service and provide support.
- To improve sales estimate accuracy over time, in aggregate, without identifying individual users.
Sub-processors
- Supabase (database + auth) - hosts your account, tracked products, and snapshots.
- Cloudflare Pages - hosts the marketing site, dashboard, and API.
- Square - processes subscription payments.
Your rights
You can export or delete your account data at any time from the dashboard. Account deletion removes your profile, tracked products, snapshots, niches, and alerts within 30 days of the request.
